Kids on the Move...
Yes, my little boy is just that, a healthy kid on the move. As anyone with a toddler knows, they love exploring and getting into things. He, in particular, loves to push anything with wheels and will close any door left open. A couple of weeks ago at his well baby check the Doctor concluded that he is healthy, though he has a slight expressive speech delay.  There is a non-profit organization here in Orem called 'Kids in the Move' that offers developmental/behavioral help to children ages 0-3. They came to my house to give Benson an evaluation, and the speech therapist concluded he qualifies for some of their services (he has a mild delay). Benson definitely has the ability to talk, but is just taking a little longer putting two and two (words that is, because anyone that knows him knows he LOVES to say 'two' :) together. He is very comfortable using the 20-30 words he knows so far, but is not branching out much beyond that right now. So as we were getting ready for church this morning, I asked Benson if he wanted to go to church. He then looked at me and blew me away by saying 'go to church'. We were thrilled! This is the first sentence he has made, yes, the very first where he has put a verb and noun together. I guess there could be worst first sentences!! What a cute kid. Children continue to amaze me. It's fun moments like these that remind me that becoming a mom is the best decision I ever made.

  1. Hola Andrew, Marissa, Benson-boy and Ella-girl,

Of course we can say we miss you, but we are so happy for you all to be growing and progressing like you are! What a wonderful family you have, and the Lord is generous in the blessings you have received. I too love the scripture 2 Ne 25:26, and share it with our new missionaries often, as this is what we all need...in families, as missionaries, everyone....to Talk and testify of Christ so that we may ALL look to Him for our salvations. Thank you for teaching and raising these darling children in the 'way they should go and when they are old they will NOT depart from it."
    We love you,
    Mom and Dad,
    Mision Chile Santiago Norte

  2. Way to go Benson, I know the excitement you feel when your child accomplish's something. Therapy will be great for him and you will be amazed at all of the progress he will make. I know Sawyer wouldn't be where is is without his therapy.
