From babies to Baptism!
  Another very joyous event that has occured in our family this past month is the baptism of Andrew's aunt Vicki. She is, and has been, well beloved in the May family for many decades. We always joke that every family should have an aunt Vicki. She is one of the most Christ-like and giving people we know, and is a joy to all she meets.

A few weeks ago her and her husband Jerry decided it felt right to invite Mormon (LDS) missionaries to their home, and they quickly accepted the invitation to be baptized. Jerry had been baptized when he was eight, but had not remained active in the church since his teenage years. Jerry was able to be interviewed and received the office of priest in the aaronic priesthood and baptized Vicki on July 7th. We all feel so lucky and blessed to have been a part of her baptism and feel of their joyous spirits. Miracles do happen and I am very grateful that Vicki and Jerry's life have been changed for the better because of this decision. Just comes to show, you are never too old or it is never too late to change or improve.
Thank you, Vicki and Jerry, for the examples you have set for us and our children, now and your whole lives. We love you.

 This is Andrew's dad, Mike (a convert), who is also very happy to have his sister join the church.

The next day we all attended her ward church meetings to see her confirmed and welcomed into the church and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. What a joyous and wonderful meeting that was. Mike (Andrew's dad) confirmed her and gave her a beautiful blessing, filled with words of unconditional love from Heavenly father for Vicki. We all gathered in the cultural hall after the meeting to take a family picture. Love that everyone in Andrew's family was there for that picture.

On a sidenote, poor Ella was trying to shake a cold and a fever for almost 2 weeks, and on Sunday she kept getting worse. So right after the meeting we drove home to Salt Lake and took her into the doctor. It is a good thing we did, because she had an ear infection and what is called RAD (restrictice airway disease). Basically her cold had gone into her airways and they were restricting, limiting oxygen flow. This is why she had been lethargic and tired. Poor thing. I have a hard time handling Ella being sick, since we have already seen her in life threatening situations when she was first born. It is a sore spot with me. She always tends to get sicker than most kids with simple illnesses. Oh well :) I am grateful that the Lord watches over her and that we have access to great healthcare. She was on an inhaler and antibiotics and now she is back to normal. She was not happy about having to take off her princess dress for a chest x-ray, but other than that she was a dream for the doctors! go figure....

 Karsten didn't seem to mind a visit to the doctor! I love it when they are still clueless enough to know what is going on :) haha
