Update: May family return from Chile, 4th of July & Kandis wedding
I know, I have been MIA this month, but lots has been going on! So here is a quick highlights update in pictures and brief descriptions to keep you all in the loop :) 1. At the end of June Andrew's parents and his sister Sarah came home from their mission in Chile. It is wonderful to have them back!
2. We celebrated the 4th of July with what has become our own May family tradition: attending the Provo Freedom parade. It is always a lot of fun and very festive. We were even lucky enough this year to have most of the morning be overcast!
3. Of course, warm weather has finally come our way and we have been living it up with lots and lots of time at the community pool and in our backyard with the kiddie pool. I love this part about summer and the kids enjoy it even more! They look for every opportunity to get wet, even if it means joining uncles with their car wash :) Today we even enjoyed the little pool in my parent's backyard.
4. I started potty training Benson! I don't know what came over me, but I just felt it was time. It is true, you feel like giving up the first few days, but it does get easier! And having something to read while you are trying to go doesn't hurt either :)
5. We had a May girls lunch in honor of Kandis marrying Greg, which was very nice. Thank you Aunt Vicki for that lovely time!
6. Of course, Greg & Kandis then got married this week! It was such a lovely, happy day and we are so happy for them!
(one advantage of weddings is the whole family is all dressed up so we tried to get some family pictures when the kids weren't too tired of taking pictures already :)
7. Lastly, we bought a new, well used, car yesterday. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but we are really happy with it. Funny (well we can laugh about it now I guess) how it all worked out that we found it when we did too! We know we needed another car soon, so we have been looking and decided to look at one in Sandy yesterday on our way up to my parent's house for the weekend. We really liked it and decided to buy it. We agreed on a price with the man selling it to us and we proceeded to drive to the bank to get him his check. Well, by some weird coincidence our trusted old Taurus decided to give up the ghost about 2 minutes after we left for the bank! So thank goodness for tender mercies and the blessings of a loving Heavenly Father who knew exactly when we would need a new car and not a moment too soon! The nice man let us borrow the car to drive to the bank to get him his money, and we literally drove off in our new car and left our old Taurus parked on the side of the road! Today we went back to get it towed, and to our surprise (for which we felt very grateful and blessed again) it started right up and we were able to drive it home without any problems. Of course we are still going to get it looked at, but what a story right?Anyways, that was July in a nut shell :) Happy summer to all of you!

wow, marissa! what a month! you guys have been so busy. glad you are having a good summer, though. :)
