Our Halloween/Thanksgiving weekend
Halloween is a lot busier when you have children! But also a lot more fun. Benson & Ella had a lot of fun activities going on and they even liked being in their costumes. I think this is the last year, though, that Benson will let me put him in an animal head-to-toe costume :) but it's so adorable don't you think? And Ella was our little ladybug, or Ellabug, as we frequently refer to her as. The fun weekend started out with Benson going to both his playgroups dressed up. The first one was his speech therapy playgroup, and the second was a ward Halloween party that Gina hosted. Both were a lot of fun:
Oma came down in the morning to join us for all the fun. She went with the kids and I to the first BYU basketball (exhibition) game. They also did trick-or-treating at the Marriot Center, so the kids had lots of chances to wear their costumes all day:
Saturday morning we packed up and headed to my parents house to spend the weekend there. We hadn't carved any pumpkins yet, so that was the first order of the day. Can you guess what Andrew carved for his design???? (Can you guess who the masked clown/dracula is? haha)
In the afternoon we went to my brother's house where we met up with the kids' cousins for a costume photo shoot and to go 'trunk or treating' in the church parking lot. Aren't my brother's & Kate's costumes the best?
And just in case you needed proof that baby ladybugs really CAN fly, here you go:
It did rain a bit when we wanted to go trick or treating around the neighborhood, but when it stopped we saw this beautiful sight. So we decided to head out, and it started raining again,
but only for 15 minutes. Benson had a great time, and can now say
"TwickoTweet" quite well.
Today (Sunday), is where we come to the Thanksgiving part of this weekend. Since Andrew & my brother are going to be out of town this year for Thanksgiving, we decided to celebrate it with my family this Sunday. It was so much fun, and you can just imagine how much we ate with Halloween and Thanksgiving combined in one weekend.... oh boy, it will take a while to recover from this one! Now we are back home, and I am sure we will be in a sugar coma until the morning!! What a fun weekend.
cute costumes and we like andrew's pumpkin a lot! :)
